kayumanggi
So if I like MJ1, is it still a cash grab? Cause you said "often poor quality". It's actually from urbandictionary.com.
James
BvS Dawn of Lulz is a cash grab garbage like Lame of Steel edit: and the hobbit trashes too And every single Marvel movie. Yeah, we know that already.
The Panda
So if I like MJ1, is it still a cash grab? Cause you said "often poor quality". Yes, I saw MJ1 that was poor quality, especially when compared to catching fire.
redfirebird2008
Paramount estimating a 40% Sunday drop for Interstellar. Much more reasonable than the last two weekends. Hopefully it stays around $15m for the weekend.
CoolioD1
I think you should add "the hobbit" at your list I was gonna reply to this post telling you that numbers was gonna try justify it not being a cash grab, but then I saw that he already had.
Ando918
0 of the top 10 movies at the U.S. box office this year will be rated R. Somewhat of an alarming trend, given how back in the 80s half of the movies in the top 10 every year would be rated R. Worrisome if you are a moviegoer like me who wants the studios to make more adult level stories (Moneyball, Captain Phillips, Lincoln, etc.) Yeah, I know those were not rated R, but they were aimed at the adult audience.

lab276
So if I like MJ1, is it still a cash grab? Cause you said "often poor quality". That's a good point actually. Something being a cash-grab doesn't necessarily mean that it'll be shit.
pepsa
That's not true at all. How do you know that the studio cares about the quality of the film? All they want is the money that comes with it. Yep thats true, qualety is a nice extra for them, but they highly pref 150M profit on a movie then only 2M profit and an oscar.. It's human greed

Well at least Gone Girl was a huge hit. It does show that R rated adult movies can still be successful. CoolioD1
Is "cash grab" the new "overrated"? I hope it becomes like the next "overrated" and "pretentious" in the market of "I DIDN'T LIKE THIS BUT I CAN'T EXPRESS WHY SO I GUESS THESE WORDS WILL DO"
Lordmandeep
I am surprised they don't make films for adult audiences? Unlike younger audiences they actually have money and are not prone to downloading movies at home and such.
