Awful. None of them likely outsold the big hits of their first decade. Shrek trilogy, Madagascar 1/2, KFP 1, not even Monsters v Aliens and Shark Tale! :o

Worldwide though the sequels KFP2, Mad 2&3, HTTYD2 have done very well, all making more world wide than the first.  Now the spin-offs with Puss and Penguins - no so good.   More worrying is that Croods is the only original film to break out.

Just want to point out that Neighbors spends a whole scene referencing the most iconic part of Taxi Driver and using it for a comedic bit.

So yeah, Taxi Driver's pretty timeless.

rocky has been referenced more .

God, how did Shark Tale sell more tickets than all of theirs aside from Shrek 1-3, KFP1, and Madagascar 1? It was abysmal.

Will Smith?  Even Hancock was huge for him.

It really was poor but I don't think there were as many CGI animated films in the market place then either.

Started off pretty alright. I wouldn't say it started to go way wrong till Rise of the Guardians.

Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and residual audiences from Finding Nemo.

Good points. Totally forgot it came out right after Nemo. They really did have a thing for copying Pixar in the early days. ABL than Antz. Nemo than Shark Tale. You could even say Shrek and Monsters Inc have their parallels with both having monsters of sorts as protagonists. Can't all be coincidence....

Antz and Shrek both came before ABL and MI.

I knew Shrek did, but I couldn't remember if Antz did. I believe they were within weeks of each other. Point is, they started production around the same time. It's very likely too they could have started production afterwards and been made faster, since they weren't of the quality Pixar was just from a visual standpoint. Either way, one was getting inside info and copying the other for awhile. No way it's all coincidental.
