2015 Best Picture predictions!

Recommended Posts

the two movies have nothing to do with each other and I really doubt the academy cares that people whined about them not nominating the lego movie.

but yeah I'm sure inside out beats anomalisa. feel like they always go for obvious when picking winners in that category.

Anomalisa anyone? Could maybe steal the spotlight away from Inside Out

100% Rt with 9.5/10 with 40 reviews

Seems THE MARTIAN (as I said way back) will be our BP winner guys.

SPOTLIGHT has a great chance for a win too but I think it will be a BOYHOOD (as I said back in July and everyone thought am crazy)

Unless...JOY wows!

If Spotlight wins it's probably just going to be one of those Picture/Screenplay/Editing wins like Argo was. The Martian needs to win Director and one other category for Picture IMO.

Martian may very well win director. Ridley never has an oscar so he has the overdue factor in a big way

he could be the julianne moore of 2015

I think Fox will push all three (Martian, Joy, Revenant) very hard in December and after nominations announcement in january they will focus solely on the one that looks like it has the best shot.

Fox is not a small-time studio that doesn't have the money for multiple campaigns.

Man, this year is absulutely insane in terms of BP potential nominee material. The strongest year I've seen (nope, not even kidding).

the crowd pleasing ones

Bridge of Spies
The Martian
Inside Out

Mad Max: Fury Road

the art movies with 99% chances of being nominated
Carol
45 Years
Room
Spotlight
Brooklyn

the lesser art movies
Macbeth
Steve Jobs
Anomalisa
The Big Short

Too mainstream/genre-ish for the Oscar crowd, too artsy/middle of the road for GA (which means that it doesn't have GA support to compesate for Oscar's lack of interest in them)
The Gift
Tangerine
Ex Machina
Sicario
It Follows
Creed

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close/The Theory of Everything/Les Misérables category

The Walk

Too obscure
Son of Saul
The End of the Tour
'71
Beasts of No Nation
The Lobster
The Trible
Phoenix
Amy (?)
The Duke Of Burgundy

and we still have a few more movies to open

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Joy
The Hateful Eight
The Revenant
In The Heart of the Sea

It is just crazy.
