The Revenant isn't for everyone and winning BP/Director two years in a row is incredibly rare so I don't think it'd be wise for Fox to push that. The strongest year I've seen (nope, not even kidding). the crowd pleasing ones Bridge of Spies The Martian Inside Out Mad Max: Fury Road the art movies with 99% chances of being nominated Carol 45 Years Room Spotlight Brooklyn the lesser art movies Macbeth Steve Jobs Anomalisa The Big Short Too mainstream/genre-ish for the Oscar crowd, too artsy/middle of the road for GA (which means that it doesn't have GA support to compesate for Oscar's lack of interest in them) The Gift Tangerine Ex Machina Sicario It Follows Creed Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close/The Theory of Everything/Les Misérables category The Walk Too obscure Son of Saul The End of the Tour '71 Beasts of No Nation The Lobster The Trible Phoenix Amy (?) The Duke Of Burgundy and we still have a few more movies to open Star Wars: The Force Awakens Joy The Hateful Eight The Revenant In The Heart of the Sea It is just crazy.
