According to Hollywood Reporter, Entourage is doing significantly better in NY and LA than everywhere else. Sex and the City also leaned towards one market more than others when it came out (it was, of course, massive in NY), but the key difference here is that film did $26M in its first day vs. Entourage's $5M opening day so yeah, it's doing terrible.

BOM hasn't published the theater counts for this weekend yet. Weird, they normally have estimated counts a week in advance.

They usually only have an estimate for the top films opening early and put up theater counts for the rest on Thur afternoon.

Yup, but the placeholder page with the estimates is always there a week in advance. There is no theater count page for this week yet.

With a $3.72m Wed and under $2m Thur is possible and if so I can see around a less than $10m w/e.

With Game 1 of the NBA finals tonight, I am guessing we will see a lot of movies take a big tumble again. Game 1 gets the most viewers other than a hypothetical Game 7. Around 20-25M people will be tuning in based on historical trends, so I would expect evening shows for all movies to take a hit.

You can't measure Entourage's success or failure by comparing it to sex and the city. The latter was a worldwide phenomenon much bigger than even what it's ratings suggest, entourage even at the peak of it's zeitgeist poqularity with James Cameron as a guest star was just a hit show by cable standards.

20+ mil 5day for an entourage movie in 2015 is surprisingly good, even if it's lower than sex and the city OD

I know that, I was just pointing out that since Entourage is doing significantly better in NY and LA and is in more than 3,000 theaters throughout the country, that means its playing to a lot of empty seats with just a $5M opening day. Assuming the 3-day is less than $15M this weekend (which is looking very likely), the theater drop is gonna be ugly in two weeks.
