Pratt has more charisma than Worthington could ever dream of.

I agree, but the question was not about charisma; it was about OWs. Besides, whether people want to admit it or not, the openigs for both actors had more to do with the properties themselves than with anything the actors contributed. Let's not try to pretend that this massive JW opening is about people wanting to see "the latest Chris Pratt film," because it is not.

OK, but let's also not pretend like him starring in the lead role had absolutely nothing to do with this movie's success.

I could quite easily quote tons and tons of people who went to see it for him. It's impossible to say what percentage they represent, but to discount it as if it's completely meaningless is very short sighted.

A movie is always the sum of its parts. Nostalgia played a role, marketing played a role, Pratt also played a role.

Universal have announced a $204,596,380 projected opening weekend for Jurassic World, leaving it just short of The Avengers all-time weekend record, which stands at $207,438,708. We haven’t seen official daily estimates yet, but the overall weekend projection suggests the film made around $67 million on Saturday—just behind The Avengers’ $69.5 million Saturday haul—and will pull in about $55 million today.

However it will not set the OW record for admissions for certain it seems unless Sunday goes beserk.

It's too close to call either way. There are countless parameters we don't really know. How much kids tickets or discounted tickets etc.

Oh, c'mon let's not act like Pratt is some big movie star. His name is barely recognizable. But maybe he's bigger in the US.

I will then be short-sighted and say that it is almost meaningless. When I see him in a live-action solo film that is not part of any beloved comic book universe or franchise and makes a substantial amount of money (not JW-kind of money, of course) based on his presence alone, then I will accept that he is certainly a draw. And I say this as someone who likes Pratt.

I really like the guy, but even I admit that he is indeed as charismatic as balsa wood.

Worthington may have been the lead in the biggest movie of all time, but he has done absolutely NOTHING worth mentioning afterward.

I mean, even Michelle Rodriguez has jumped back aboard the Fast and Furious franchise after Avatar.
