So, Chris Pratt:

LEGO MOVIE:  $69 million OW

GUARDIANS:  $94 million OW

JURASSIC WORLD: $200+ million OW

Has any actor had a 2 year streak even approaching this?

Also, not every theatre is reporting live numbers. Rth sees a running sample size of roughly 50-60% of the total possible gross. He has to make comparisons between the same time, let's say 6pm ET, between the film that is opening and the same point for previous openers. If you compare it to the wrong film it could throw out your estimate by 10-15%.

OH BTW!!!

Universal has something else that could make MONEY

rights to a series called

Battlestar Galactica

if and that is a big IF, Star Wars does BIG money like I see it doing.

Look for Universal to dust it off!!!!

Imagine the original characters back

Downey Jr. did very well with Marvel and Sherlock Holmes for a while. He was also the lead in all of these movies.

Some people never learn.

Civil War is not going to disappoint.

Marvel knows when to hit singles and when to aim for the fences.

This comment reminds me of the recent Lady Gaga interview in which she claimed her last solo LP (which plummeted from it's predecessor) "wasn't about being a hit or getting hit singles."

I'm going to ask again because I just can't believe it: so $600M is in very serious contention!?!?!?!?!

:o x about a million infinity.

It would need a 2.8x multiplier off a $215 million weekend. Since it's been having great word of mouth, attracting a lot of family audiences, that kind of multiplier shouldn't be hard. And the weekdays will also be much stronger than The Avengers.  :D

Jurassic world need to earn $1 billion overseas to beat FF7 and after seeing JW numbers in China, $1 billion overseas is not going to happen.

With the gigantic domestic number, we don't need no stinking $1B OS

to get to the $1B WW Promised Land

I'm done and going back to bed

This whole thing is shocking to me in a way. I honestly can't fathom how this beat Avengers 1. I find Avengers 1 a better film, but more on the marketing front, I wasn't super impressed by Jurassic World

But then again, it's super cool the record is being broken by a movie absolutely no one expected to break the record
