JP1 sold almost twice as many tickets in the domestic market as DH2. Calling anything associated with JP "random" seems ridiculous.

It is not random in the sense that there is a huge fanbase. The ticket sales from the past are pretty strong proof of that one. Barely anyone expected them to show up but they did. Credit to Excel and anyone else who saw it coming.

Good Friday is a holiday for many adults that wouldn't have off today, so the logic was sound.  Just because you ended up being correct, doesn't mean they are stupid.
