Your points are valid but when 8 mile was released, Eminem was the biggest artist on the planet.

He was EVERYWHERE.

Which brings me to the other point. Just how big are NWA these days? I mean I'm sure the youth from the early 90's will be interested, but how about the younger demo? I feel like today's teens have practically forgotten the 90's guys. They weren't even that big anymore when I was a teen. Everyone was too busy listening to Eminem and Fiddy and (*vomits*) Nelly to care much.

Totally different. Audiences expect an Adam Sandler idiot comedy to get bad reviews. They already know whether they agree or not from a dozen movies that have preceded it as to whether it's their cup of tea.

With comic book movies, and certainly major ones, people now expect a good movie. Whatever anyone has to say about the amount of comic book pictures, on the whole they're at least pretty good. The reaction to F4 is unprecedented in recent memory, and what has happened to its Friday box office seems to be an immediate reaction to that word.

yes, i 4gree.

This film is making me nostalgic but not for the Tim Story FF film but for Jessica Alba. The one time sexiest woman in hollywood. I just want to post random Jessica Alba gifs, if you'll excuse me

A friend asked me to go

show him the RT scores, ... and ask him/her why he/she wants to torture you. If a logical reason can be given (what I highly doubt for the moment), then drcide. But so... is he/she really a true friend .... if asking you to do that? (not seriously meant)

But even a TV editor like Tele could have edited this better than what it is now.   :P

Do you also have a saying like we have: ~ who has friends like this doesn't need enymies ...

Yet Alien adjusts to over 250M...

1. repeat releases

2. complete other time, other rules and so on

3. I spoke about reactions / ratings / reviews mostly, as reaction to someone who wrote about audience often needing ~10y to appreciate Scott and another poster for not understanding the the forecasts of R. Scott's movies.

4. I am not seeing a lot sense in adjusting numbers and simply taking the new numbers and thinking that is generally saying something / absolute. As far longer in the past as less making sense, as more specialised the genre or.... including Zeitgeist.... of that time not a lot of people in the farer future will know, or what kind of advertising, or which actors had then star power or not and so on

Even if I am here mostly for the movie business details.... there is something else too as only numbers ;)

They'll know Ice Cube and Dre.

Is that a huge part of SOC though? I thought it's more concerned with being a biopic of the NWA's rise to stardom than a social commentary. Which by the way, sure did Selma no favors this year.

I don't view this as a biopic at all and I'm pretty sure most other people will feel the same way.

Got tumblr tabs open for all 4 characters, showing great restraint

The wait is killing me. It's like blue balls, in your heart.

(I have family in town and we're going out to eat likely in a bit  :( )

Referencing True Detective counts.

Pink's the first one out. Farrell is the master of the Texan domain.
