THE JUNGLE BOOK made an estimated $7.5M overseas this weekend, for a $557.2M overseas / $909.8M global total. #TheJungleBook

$10.2m global weekend and summer week days kicking in.

THE JUNGLE BOOK
The Disney jungle-naut added Korea, one of its last markets, this weekend, and brought its global cume swinging past $900M. With a $10.2M frame worldwide ($2.7M domestic, $7.5M international) the global total is now $909.8M including $557.2M from overseas. The Jon Favreau-helmed favorite is the No. 3 movie of 2016 domestically, internationally and globally, behind the Mouse’s own Cap3 andZootopia. This was the 10th offshore frame with play continuing in 30 material territories. Korea is projected as a No. 1 start (Warcraft also bowed there this session) with $5.9M. Japan is yet to come on August 11.

It's probably going to have to make at least $70m in Japan to cross the $1 billion mark. Only about 17 movies released since 2010 have made the equivalent ¥7.3 billion. It's not going to be a cakewalk for The Jungle Book.

But I don't think it needs that much

 

TJB made this weekend 6M OS and 4.8M came from SK (-16%)

 

So at least 10M more from SK and 3M from other markets for 580M and 360M USA

 

It needs like 55-60M from Japan which is doable, is a wonderful movie

"at least" 10M more from SK not looking good tho. more like additional 6M-8M from here at most. 

Japan needs to deliver 60M-65M IMO.

I would say it has a very, very small chance. Smaller than Zootopia's chance before its Japan run.

This movie feels so much like it reached a billion even though it didn't!

The good news is that Japanese yen just became more valuable because of the Brexit. Might be good for The Jungle Book.

don't know about the other markets but would do more or less than $3M in SK this weekend.
