Wonder how harsh will the drop fro Jem be this weekend. Apparently Ke$ha appears in the post-credit scene for it along with the silent asian girl from Pitch Perfect and the murdered girl/Wes's girlfriend from "How to get away with murder"

September 4-6 this year, but that was over the 3 day portion of the 4 day weekend. Exactly a year ago Ouija and Nightcrawler came close with 300k over 10M for both, same with Skyfall and Rise of the Guardians over the Dec 7-9 2012 weekend, the last non-holiday 3 day weekend to have no movie over 10M was Sep 7-9 2012 when a bad Bradley Cooper movie called "The Words" was the major wide release.

Confirmed: Bradley Cooper is box office poison.

Crisis and Burnt were dumped, so no surprises there.

And the Boy Scout Meets Zombies Movie has totally failed to drum up any Halloween business, leaving "Goosebumps the clear winner in this year's spooky movie derby.

And "The Martian" looks like it will be #1 again.

Our Brand Is Crisis going that low just shows that no star is safe when the movie looks completely unappealing anymore.

And the terrible reviews hurt it also;it;s the kind of film that needs good reviews.

Was David Gordon Green supposed to be the next wunderkind?

He's a really solid director when he's involved with a project that he's passionate about. Snow Angels, which was the last movie that he made before breaking into the mainstream with Pineapple Express, was really good. Even Pineapple Express was hilarious and felt like it had a more uniquely bizarre spin than the majority of studio comedies.

Scouts vs. Zombies was never really promoted in the first place. A total dump on the studio's part.

The best bit of marketing they did were the initial teasers. Then it turned out the movie was R-Rated, and then the theaters boycotted it because of the early VOD window. At that point Paramount stopped caring.

DHD is saying 3.5M OW for Our Brand is Crisis and 6-6.5M for Burnt. Stunning (Scouts vs Zombies estimated at 2.3M for now).

Yikes at that Crisis number! I don't think that the film looks great, but the trailer at least made me chuckle, and one would think that Sandra Bullock's name alone could push it to at least double digits.

Honestly, I'm surprised that the estimate for Scouts is above $2 million. It has "careless studio dump" written all over it.

I think WB gave up on Our Brand Is Crisis after the weak reception at TIFF. Sandra is a treasure and everyone loves her but her starpower only goes so far for a movie that's about a subject (South America problems/politics) that most either don't care about or understand. Plus the ads never could decide if they were selling a comedy or a drama.

Movietickets.com

Star Wars- 17%

Goosebumps 9%

Martian 8%

Bridge of Spies 8%

Burnt 5%

Burnt is the only new release to make a dent in the top 5 with the weekend coming up.

Last weekend Star Wars fell to 3rd behind Goosebumps and another movie. (Forgot which one)
