Ok, WB had 2 not so good years, so what?

It can't be always the Winner.

We'll see if they can compete with the biggest studios now that they have DCEU and Fantastic Beasts.

Huh? They are the biggest studio. Like they win 2 out of every 3 years.

Exactly. Next year they've got LEGEND OF TARZAN and KING ARTHUR, so who'll be laughing then?

Those are very risky projects. But there is a great potential in their 2016 slate.

What about Warcraft and The Huntsman for Universal?

Warcraft will make its money back from OS alone. Huntsman on the other hand is going to have to be a great movie.

Huntsman will bomb but Warcraft is guaranteed Chinese $$$. OS will be massive, 500M+.

They aren't the biggest studio for this year or last year. When they do win it's because they release double the amount of movies.

So what? They should be blamed for actually releasing original content and not relying only on their franchises (also, if you'd take a look on BOM you'd see that bad years for Warners are the equivalent for an excellent year for any other studio.) As for not being on no. 1, no worries, they'll be back next year.

Both WB and Sony (the two Whipping Studios of 2015) have had not very good years but there really is no "Biggest Loser" in this scenario: Sony is gonna end up with the smaller overall gross but didn't have any big gambles this year, while WB has a much costlier line-up and is gonna be literally swimming in red ink and pink slips.

If you can release way less movies and still match Warner Bros revenue then you're doing something right.

There's nothing wrong with franchises. They're stories and characters that are so popular that audiences wish to revisit them while the studio makes a healthy and reliable stream of revenue. It's a win-win.
