Btw: Grats to TFA and the whole team, but every one who is into BO knew that TFA will beat avatar dom wise, so for me this didnt come as a surprise. Nevertheless, one of hell BO ride.

Beating Avatar in 20 days. Just insane. What was previously the shortest time that a movie took to break the all time dom record? (Am sure this question can be worded in a better way. Feel free to do so.)

1/4 of the adjusted top 20 are Star Wars movies

Well, that could change in the next few years. I mean with Lion King and The Sting still available for being kicked out by future SW movies...

local movies.... (and some foreign but not US ones too to expect)

It's an odd week on the international box office chart, as Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the only Hollywood film in the top five. The latest Star Wars instalment earned $96.3 million over the weekend for an international total of $770.5 million. Its Worldwide total rose to $1.513 billion. At the end of business on Sunday, the film was in third place for the year on the worldwide chart, but that has since changed. It is also in fifth place on the yearly international chart. However, the film opens in China this week and it could jump into third place just due to its opening in that territory.

Speaking of China, Detective Chin Tang opened in first place in China with $66.51 million during its 5-day opening in its native market.

Mr. Six remained very strong in China with $38 million over the weekend for a total of $108.45 million. China is not a market known for its legs, so this is a very good result.

Mojin: The Lost Legend slipped a spot to fourth place with $32 million over the weekend for a running tally of $242.51 million after just 17 days of release. It is now the fifth biggest hit of all-time in China.
