The best picture category, actor, actress and supporting categories are a joke this year. Von Sydow for a mute in ELIC is one of the biggest jokes I've ever seen and so is the nomination for best picture. Hugo is good, but 11 noms, seriously? Come on.Hollywood is in love with itself, that's the only explanation as to why they are nominating movies about movies.

I have a question did someone random person in the audience whoop it up when they announced some random category like Best Short film? That seems to always happen. Oh and looking at that list the only films I saw were Moneyball, the Help, Harry Potter, Transformers and Apes.

They didn't announce that, only the major non-technical ones. But someone whooped when Extremely Loud was nominated for Best Picture. Edited by lab276
