Looks like Muppets might have best Orginal Song in the Bag. However I'm more Shocked Man or Muppet got Nominated over Life's a Happy Song.Gary Oldman finally get Nominated great he deserves it.

Shocked that Extremely Loud and Tree of Life got in (more the former). Haven't seen EL&IC, but ToL was a letdown to me. Malick getting nominated is more understandable.Awesome to see Hugo and Moneyball getting their fair attention...but 50/50 has been egregiously overlooked.

Hugo leads The Artist, 11 to 10 nods. That's big. I'm expecting a BP/BD split now. I said Extremely Loud might get in with ten. Without Tattoo, I probably would have picked TOL and EL&IC to fill out the ten. But I still would have put Bridesmaids before either of them. What a weird year. TOL, Malick and Oldman are great choices, but some odd snubs- Tattoo misses Picture despite acting and editing nods, War Horse gets picture in spite of no acting or directing nods, Tintin misses animated entirely after winning the Globe, there's only two movies up for Best Song (just hand it to Man or Muppet), no Fassbender, no Woodley, no Swinton, NO ALBERT BROOKS? Now I have to see Extremely Loud. UGH.

I suspect The Artist will take both Director and Actor. This movie is about as far up the Academy's as...I mean alley as anything is ever going to get in this day and age. They'll probably reward it handsomely.

I'm still not gonna see Extremely Loud. I know I like to see every Best Picture nominee, but seriously, I don't think I could stand that kid for two hours.Song should be an easy win for the Muppets.Also looks like the animators branch really do have something against mo-cap. Rango has that one in the bag, I think.
