You have won a bet for this, right? I can't remember it, though.

Nope. I lost. I said it would not make 400m. When it does me and Tele owe the site $100

Is the "disappointment" label only attached to a highly successful film when it's a superhero movie?

We can probably add future Star Wars films to the list

I just do not understand why people complain about prices for completely optional things, or things that are cheap anyway.

Do you complian about the price of alcohol when go out to a club or bar. Do you smoke? if so do complain about the price of cigarettes?

No, of course not, if I wanted to be cheap about drinks then I would only drink at home or parties

Am i the only one who is not shocked that Civil War is going to squeak by 400?Never understood the massive predictions for it. Its going to make 100+more than WS. Thats a huge success

no one's shocked, in either direction.  maybe BKB but only for a while.  500m movies don't just happen; it's only happened 6 times in the last 20 years, and 5 times in the last 9.  and there was no way that CW was doing less than 300m.  maybe some people are shocked by around 100m for a mega blockbuster.

I see where Tree's coming from on this even if it comes off a bit harsh. When people complain about movie ticket prices they seem to assume concessions are a must, though it may just be so that they can make their point seem stronger.

Nice at those Apocalypse OS numbers, above 100M+ despite meh marketing and WOM. Good on them. My Apocalypse > 81.4M 3-day OW bet on the casino is still alive after all

Does Disney even care about video games anymore after they canceled Infinity?

Game is not happening because Disney has cancelled all their games and gives no fucks.

But you will surely get a sequel at some point

I know about all of that, guys. I know Disney doesn't give a fuck about games atm. I'm just saying I WANT that game to happen :P.

Like, c'mon, can't they see the ungodly potential of a game like that? The movie didn't even delve into the entirety of the city (probably we'll get that in the sequel). Though Disney not giving a fuck about their games in general is sad. I don't care about Infinity, but that thing failing to do the numbers they wanted is their own fault for making it so expensive anyway. Plus, they have such a rich library of games - DuckTales, Aladdin, Lion King, Hercules.... Jesus, I need to calm down, this is still the movie thread, right?

geez, the whole money about going to a movie.  No, it's not cheap but I always liked this quote from Hitchcock and it doesn't even cover bringing kids to the theater :P

Why do you keep approaching this from a "need" perspective? No one needs to do anything. But people will do what they want for an afternoon or evening out. They might also buy food they don't finish eating. But more to the point, most of the time this isn't a calculated judgement call. For almost all movies, the hassle and expense of the whole experience isn't worth it, for them.

People don't need to go to the cinema.  They can pull up a HD stream,  hook up the HDMI cord and grab a pack of Twizzlers out of the pantry.

It's a nice quote but paying for a movie doesn't guarantee you'll enjoy it, and you can't get your money back if you don't.
