Wow. The sharp contrast between overseas and domestic has been a big story with Ice Age. But huge US declines are not something any studio should want considering that studios get a bigger cut here and the ancillary market is more robust.

Dory has the best hold not counting expansions.

Kabali was insanely frontloaded, not surprised. I imagine Absolutely Fabulous is in for a sharp drop today, I didn't even know the show existed until I read how it was doing in the UK  Excellent increase for Cafe Society, should be in for a PTA over 15k this weekend.

Yeah it's from Identity. Bourne is my favorite trilogy of all time

Nice! Not my favorite, but it is the best spy series out there.

Looks like Bourne, Pets, Purge will bring Universal DOM to over a billion by the end of Summer.

@James Do you think Warner Bros can get to 2 billion DOM this year? With LO doing well, looks like 1 billion DOM, for the pre-SS movies, is possible. Can SS, Fantastic Beasts, Storks, and the rest of the slate make 1 billion DOM? If so, only once had a studio crossed 2 billion DOM before last year, and then we get two years in a row w/ two studios doing it. Looks like at least 1.7 billion DOM assured.

Whatever happens with IA, Fox still has a nice line-up of movies left, and they would need to avg about 80-90 million for this to be Fox's best year ever and make it a tight race w/ WB. Seems possible.

Yeah, I think 2B will happen for WB.

Like you said - Lights Out + current batch = 1b

Suicide Squad 360m (just like Deadpool - and that is really low balling it)

War Dogs - 70m

Sully - 70m

Storks - 130m

The Accountant - 70m

Fantastic Beasts - 300m

My personal guess is that War Dogs and Sully will over perform and reach 100m, while SS will clear 400m. Warner made 2.1b DOM back in 2009. I am thinking 2016 might set a new record for them.

If Into Darkness jumped from 21 to 26M Friday to Saturday, why are we expecting a small decline/stay flat?

Because it's the middle of July, not mid May, and Into Darkness opened on a Thursday.

My week by week SS breakdown:

Aug 5: 150M (54M weekdays, 204M Total)

Aug 12: 60M (24M weekdays, 288M Total)

Aug 19: 30M (12M weekdays, 330M Total)

Aug 26: 17M (7.5M weekdays, 354.5M Total)

Sep 2: 10M (6M weekdays, 371.5M Total)

Sep 9: 5M (2.7M weekdays, 379.2M Total)

Sep 16: 2.5M (1.4M weekdays, 383.1M Total)

Sep 23: 1.2M (700k weekdays, 385M Total)

Final Total: 390M (2.6x)

It should stay on top until Labor Day when Morgan dethrones it (or maybe it doesn't?)
