Community Manager Water Bottle Posted February 19, 2017 Community Manager Share Posted February 19, 2017 ofc La La Land won. Boring, generic, vanilla choice for Best Picture. Also just a good film rather than a great one.
aabattery
This was fun. Thanks for hosting @Spaghetti by the Sea and @The Panda. You're both living the skux life today, my friends.
CoolioD1
my favourite year is when tdkr won the list but the master won the awards. we've probably gotten too big as a forum for something as idiosyncratic as that to happen again. hell back then Silence probably would've had a good shot at the best picture.

SLAM!
La La Land was the best film I've seen this year. I was almost worries Zootopia would get it. That's a good film, but La La Land is better imo.
Fancyarcher
I have no issue with that #1 choice.

That was also when we didn't do preferential ballots. And didn't The Master win by a single vote? It was great to see, anyway. I still remember CJohn's meltdown. DAR
And SS for Worst picture. It's not a good film by any stretch but Resurgence was just inept on so many levels

You're just salty because the new voting system is what caused you to lose the BOFFY BTW Silence moved up in the rankings from the preferential system versus straight ballot. The new system also broke a number of ties. In general though, both systems delivered the same winners.
GiantCALBears
Pink beat Chewy? I can live with that. Hopefully Coolio and Tele tied for worst.

franfar
La La Land seems overrated. This much idolatry for a musical? Give me a break.

CoolioD1
and what's that at 1:31 of this song? a pre-fame BOFFY winner Amy Adams as a random groupie!

It's a dull and overrated movie (although you clearly haven't seen it) but there's nothing wrong with musicals. They can be rad.
