TalismanRing Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/622557-gifted-movie-begins-production Press Release Fox Searchlight Pictures today announced that principal photography has started in Savannah and on Tybee Island, Geogia on the drama Gifted, starring Chris Evans (Captain America: Civil War, Snowpiercer), Tony Award winner Lindsay Duncan (Birdman, Le Weekend), Mckenna Grace (Independence Day: Resurgence), Jenny Slate (Obvious Child, “Parks and Recreation”) and Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer (The Help, The Divergent Series: Insurgent). Marc Webb is directing from an original screenplay by Tom Flynn with Karen Lunder and Andy Cohen attached to produce. In Gifted, Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece Mary (Mckenna Grace) – in a coastal town in Florida. Frank’s plans for a normal school life for Mary are foiled when the seven-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of Frank’s formidable mother Evelyn (Lindsay Duncan) whose plans for her granddaughter threaten to separate Frank and Mary. Octavia Spencer plays Roberta, Frank and Mary’s landlady and best friend. Jenny Slate is Mary’s teacher, Bonnie, a young woman whose concern for her student develops into a connection with her uncle as well. Edited October 14, 2015 by TalismanRing 1 Quote
WrathOfHan Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Chris Evans is having the end to the Captain America trilogy and Spider-Man is in that movie. Chris Evans then signs on to Marc Webb's new movie, which is his first movie since The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Got it. 5 Quote
Spidey Freak Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Excited to see what Webb can do without Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber's super screenplay giving him wings or Sony execs holding him down in a choke slam. He's actually had a very similar experience to Trank's, one pretty rosier than usual gig and one nightmarish (business as usual) gig. Good news is Webb's still standing, even after making it to the sequel. Quote
TalismanRing Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 Webb also smartly has his foot firmly in TV with producing and directing on Limitless, Battleground and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Also, he not only made a solid first film he didn't bad mouth the studio after their interference and the debacle on the 2nd. More importantly for Gifted is that Evans is hot as hell. Set photos from last Friday. Oh yeah, Jenny Slate is there as well. Quote

Blankments Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Looks disappointingly generic for the return to indie films after how stylish (500) Days is Quote
filmlover Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Already a thread (which should really be moved from On the Lot by now): Quote

AniNate Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 This looks like the most uninspired mashup of precocious child cliches ever Quote
Sam Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Chris Evans and the kid look cute. That's all I got. Doesn't seem like a suitable role for him though. I wanna see him play more crazy/weird/unusual roles ala Snowpiercer or The Losers or even The Iceman. Quote
