BEAUTY AND THE BEAST WEEKEND THREAD | Late Sunday Numbers (Asgard) - 48-49M | Official Weekend Estimate: 170M; OS OW: 180M; WW OW: 350M

Nah.

The Wall and Monster Trucks were small Bombs.

I want a 150-200m+ budget movie flopping hard.

King Arthur fits the bill and could do it.

Valerian, I am sad to say, has a chance.

Power Rangers kinda, budget is kinda low.

Are you mentally prepared for the strong possibility that this and Guardians knock both Nolan Batfilms out of the top 10 OWs?

I have made my peace. They have become more than just movies.

Which is?

I thought that this underwhelming number gives GOTG an edge.

One part of me notices trailer views and social media however the other notices crowd reactions and social media too.

$64M on a $125M budget is an enormous bomb. You rarely see that happening.

Yes, yes, but the bigger the budget the better.

Jupiter Ascending, John Carter, Battleship, Pan, Lone Ranger, Fantastic Four, that kind of bombs.

Said most time AMC  not necessarily in relation to BATB

Well after glitch seems resolved it put everything back to just about way it was :)

However for now going to reduce slightly

9 x 7

10 x 6.5

So I have a gambling problem...put down  5k on BABT breaking $200M over the weekend...

Any chance?

Guardians 2 will increase from the first but I wonder if it's going to be $125-130m rather than $150-160m?

From the looks of it, very VFX heavy with top VFX houses working on the movie,  the scale, I 'd say 150-180m ...

I may be wrong but Warner is usually a big spender with their effects movies.

It is their Tarzan of 2017 IMO, a very old brand with lots of modern VFX imagery.
