TMP
Are there gonna be Welcome to Marwen licensed dolls for this? Considering it looks like Universal/Zemeckis sawed off all of the edge that was in the original documentary and are making some weird magical realism fantasy based on a tragic story, it wouldn't even surprise me. The Futurist
Zemeckis is completely lost. Those trailers are some of the ugliest and creepiest thing I have ever seen.
Krissykins
Wow I’ve lost all interest. Didn't realise the story was “straightwashed”, that’s terrible! but the Guardian addressed it in their scathing review. Also said Steve is “awful”. Now its clear why this was completely ignored this awards season.
Black Panther
If there was any way this was going to be halfway decent it sure doesn’t like it going to be happening based on these early reviews

TalismanRing
Marwen is the work of a filmmaker who's never been more sure of his craft, and never less connected to anything resembling actual human experience. - Sam Adams / Slate The messaging here is dangerous at best, as the more complex truths of Mark's trauma are steamrolled by Zemeckis' reckless desire to turn the guy's mind into a theme park ride. -- David Ehrlich / indieWire Robert Zemeckis' insipid Welcome to Marwen is a painfully schmaltzy misjudged disaster and superficial retelling that dishonors a layered and agonizing story about trauma. --Rodrigo Perez / The Playlist Ugh. Disappointing. The documentary is great though - watch that. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/marwencolk

Jonwo
Zemeckis' track record box office wise in the last few years has not been good with only Flight being profitable. I hope The Witches is a return to form for him.

filmlover
This clearly going to be the Father Figures of this year. The official winner of the annual Christmas Casualty sweepstakes.

And Allied was... unfortunate but it definitely wasn't terrible. Yeah you’re right.
Yandereprime101189
To be honest, I expected the reviews to be somewhat higher, but at the same time I was expecting this in the back of my head. Always did look like Small Soldiers 2. Edited December 21, 2018 by Yandereprime101189

That One Girl
It's a stretch to call this movie good, but I think I liked it anyway, if only because of how ambitious and completely insane it is.
