I don't think it will matter if FK passes BP for that as BP is almost guaranteed to pass DH2.

Passes DH2, 8th.

Passed by IW, 9th.

If it loses to Fallen Kingdom it slides to 10, and then it is impossible for it to share time in the top 10 with Avengers 4 and they have to settle for a mere 40%.

Ah sorry you said Avengers 4. I mistook it for IW. Damn Disney self-cannibalising like crazy!

Yep, as expected. Since BP only needs 2.5M more they will probably pass within a week of each other though, which is a pretty funny coincidence.

WW total now $1,338,984,073, $645,857,458 OS (not including Wakanda).

:hahaha:

but Wait, that’s with the OS through Sunday but the estimated domestic? Or did the actuals come in yet?

It may be a photo finish. Come Thursday BP should be at 1.3405B IW should be at 1.3XXXB (in other words I have no idea).

On the 11th China hits and IW goes way past DH2’s 1.3415B (if it hasn’t already). But between the 11th and 12th BP should too, and I don’t know how long it takes the OS to come in from China so it’s actually possible IW and BP get counted for passing it the same day depending how slow the week is. Though you’re right IW should first.

Mojo estimates the totals based on the daily ER. Lots of currencies (Euro, real) are weaker compared with the USD compared to February.

Thanks for the info. Welp maybe it will get further away from DH2 in that case depending on the market. Though if they similarly lowered DH2 which had a higher % overseas it might’ve already passed it (course they won’t)...

They only adjust OS totals if the film is still actively grossing money in these markets. We don't usually see huge fluctuations in ER in the span of a few months, but when they happen they can cause some strange effects. It's why the USD amount of a lot of OS grosses is incorrect on BOM compared to the detailed threads here. They continually adjust the film's entire total in local currency to the current ER rather than just the amount that's grossed during the new ER. I guess they thought it would be difficult to keep track of the different ERs for every single week of a film's run.

The difference and the change will be too small to matter. At this point it is making most of its money domestically with OS adding barely anything. At this point it is locked to pass DH2

9 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 WB $1,341.5 $381.0 28.4% $960.5 71.6% 2011
10 Black Panther BV $1,341.4 $696.2 51.9% $645.2 48.1% 2018

Mojo has it behind DH2 by just 100K currently, but I'm not sure whether this number has taken into consideration the OS weekend numbers. Either way, will pass The Boy Who Lived tomorrow at the latest. :)

Doesn’t take OS into account. The last OS update they had for BP was from May 6th, so they’ll probably update that by Tuesday (though last time it lowered the total due to exchange rates). Also the weekend numbers are estimates which tend to be lower than the actuals. Odds are it may have already passed DH2 but perhaps the studio wanted to celebrate separately from IW getting top 5 all time and couple it with the official BluRay release date on Tuesday

consider this a requiem for the pending end to Black Panther’s amazing run-700 coming
