The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

Recommended Posts

5:00 Ferdinand is finishing with 5/63. This is one fewer ticket than The Star sold for its 5:00 showing :jeb!: 7:30 is still at 8 tickets. The Star finished with 15 tickets total, so when all's said and done it should be ahead. Should.

Downsizing got downsized by 400 theaters :jeb!: This is more in line with other Paramount joints and on Wolf of Wall Street's level

Still waiting for Fox, Lionsgate, and Sony to release their TCs.

Those are some fugly losses for Thor and Bad Moms. Doctor Strange lost less and was in more theaters than Thor when RO opened.

Coco is losing more theaters than Moana did; it's definitely dropping a minimum of 40% this weekend with Ferdinand as direct competition.

Pretty bad drops for JL, DH2, and Lady Bird as well.

The Disaster Artist couldn't really gain more theaters, which isn't surprising. A24 is going to have to wait until January to try their luck at a wider release.

Great googly moogly. :ohmygod::ohmygod::ohmygod:

That would explain why it was slowing down when I was trying to make my last sellout report. :lol:

It's huge but if we just go by Fandango comparisons it doesn't look to hit the $40m preview range.  More like $32-35m

But it's had such high pre-sales before today so who the fuck knows.

Are you kidding? There’s no way previews are as low as $32M. That would be terrible and frankly unbelievable. Our 4 am IMAX has more than 50 tickets sold! Everything else is sold out or within a few rows of sellout already. It can’t get much bigger than selling out every screening from 6 pm to midnight.
