MT Update:

I2: 65.7%

JW2: 11.3%

O8: 4.2%

Tag: 3.2%

Solo: 1.9%

JW2 just went down from 11.6%, not a good sign at all :gold:

It is Tuesday. People are probably just buying tickets for movies in theaters.

Did I2 also go down on last Tuesday?

So I'm going to start tracking JW2 at my theater from now simply to see if it's walk up based or not. I did something similar for Solo. I started tracking that on May 20th. So I figured I'd started tracking JW2 now.

Here's what I have for JW2 at my theater as of now.

7PM 106/142
10:30PM 30/142

3D
7PM 68/142
10PM 12/142

Fallen Kingdom update

2D

7PM 114/142

10:30PM 40/142

3D

7PM 68/142

10:00PM 18/142

So since the last update it’s gone up by 18 seats for 2D and 6 seats for 3D. It’s increased at a slightly better pace than Solo did (solo’s sales pretty much stagnated even with additional showtimes) but it’s still not selling anywhere close to how DP2 was at my theater.

Not only is it Tuesday, but the largest animated film of all time is open for business. Incredibles 2 will have a bigger Tuesday than Avengers, Infinity War, Black Panther, The Last Jedi, and Jurassic World.

We have to remember that MovieTickets is a relative measure of tickets sold (based on the percentage of tickets sold), not actual numbers of tickets sold.

Peace,

Mike

Not a chance do I see more than 120 for it at this point. Now it's just a matter of does it pull a Solo and go sub 100 like everyone thought was impossible for that movie too?

One thing I will say about JW2 is that it’s sales throughout the weekend are stronger at my theater than how it’s doing on Thursday night. So I wouldn’t shocked to see a good IM for its OW once again. But just a matter to see what that Thursday number is. On that note, it’s strong sales throughout the weekend, to me, indicate a movie that is relying more on presales than people here are thinking it is.

This I agree with, but not nearly as drastic as say, Incredibles 2. Multiplier will be in between DP2 and I2 for sure, not exactly helpful as that’s a large range

JW2's Monday presales (9310) are quite a bit lower than Solo(13688), Deadpool 2 (23134) and Incredibles 2 (20872).

http://akvalley.pythonanywhere.com/static/Fandango_track.txt

Aside from I2 not being that pre-sale heavy compared to CBM, JW:FK Fandango Monday is only 3.09x Oceans 8

Oceans 8:  3009 (Mon) / 4372 (Tues) / 11,114 (Wed)

Reserved seat sales at my local for Thur have risen by 11 seats yesterday over the last day for a total of 40 of about 600 seats.   On the bright side that's 37.9%!

Seriously, maybe non reserves less expensive regular 2D screens are selling better

Didn’t Solo’s tracking drop to around 135m this time around too?

was 140-170 4-day I think.

edit: going by jw1's massive silent audience thinking jw2 will be 5% over deadline's 135-150 tracking for 142-158 if not more.

The article says $135m to a possible $150m.  That's almost the same range, they had when early tracking came out though now they're only emphasizing the the low end in the title as opposed to ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Eyes $130M-$150M Stateside Start In Early Projections

They also snuck into the article that the budget they're hearing is $187m and not $175m which they say is still great because of the money it's already made and will make. But they usually only start sharing whispers of higher budgets when a disappointment is coming.  Rather schizophrenic.
