Really depends on what you're looking for, but usually the most important takeaway for just a casual glance is the comp.  More on that in a bit.   But even that is highly dependent on a movie being either in a similar genre or having a similar pre-sale pattern as folks will buy tickets at different times during a pre-sale window thanks to a very long list of factors.   Add in that movies will have different promotional schedules during their pre-sales (review embargoes, TV ca

My local (NYC) - doing much better than the National Fandango Avg

 

Far fewer preview showings - like Aladdin - only 4 showings (Aladdin expanded to 5 later in the night)

 

Selling 9.37% more seats than SHAZAM THUR shows
Running neck and neck with Godz2  THUR shows (209 v 204 tickets)

 

EDIT:  Don't know why I was comparing Wed to Thur - maybe it  just feels like a Thur (damn this has been a long week)

Really soft increase for Phoenix, it will be well short of KOTM's comparable day despite being ahead yesterday. Now some of that is probably due to the T-mobile/Atom deal but I have to wonder if the reviews might be having a bit of an effect.

I dunno about that.  For one, SLOP2 had an unknown amount of demand already burnt off with the Fandango Early Access a couple of weeks back.

 

Secondly, it is a PG cartoon, so it should see a higher Sat bump.

 

Finally, it's just getting better reviews than Dark Phoenix.

 

I think I'd be pretty surprised if SLOP2 isn't ahead of Dark P by the time the weekend is done.

I could be wrong, but I'm having trouble seeing how DP will scratch near 40. Bad marketing, a lead that the GA have hardly been introduced to, coming off of Apocalypse, terrible reviews, etc. I really think we are looking at 30 or so, unless there is still a larger base of truly dedicated X-Men fans than I realize. 

 

Abysmal forecasts for SLOP. 50ish would be about the worst OW admissions drop ever for a big animated first sequel.
