When do people start worrying about the secret life of pets 2

i legitimately have not seen it anywhere close on any pre sales charts

I know movie will be high walk up movie but I’m not really seeing any traction on pre sales

I'm a little concerned about it tbh, yeah family film walkups but it's also a sequel, there should be some level of presales eventually. Still, I'd wait another couple weeks before really getting worried, we're still a ways out

so Variety is predicting $30m-$35m that is basically john wick 2 opening

why so low?

i don't see  JW3 doing less than 45 tbh

Often times trades under predict so the movie looks better.

they are simply wrong, which they often are

they aren't reading that the anticipation for this movie is way higher than the other two, there's no way it will open the same as JW 2

Hey everyone, I've been crunching box office numbers since Godzilla got me interested in 2014. I've been obsessed ever since. Boxofficemojo, Boxofficepro, and Thenumbers are some of my top sites and I follow people like Grace Randolph, Scott Mendelson, and Gavin Feng on twitter. But somehow I've completely missed this wonderful site. I'm fascinated. Are y'all tracking your individual theaters as well as sites like fandango? And if so, are you just counting the total tickets presold for OW?

First count of today, only Thursdays-

Godzilla: KoTM-95 (+6), 8 screenings (3 IMAX, 3 3D, 2 Regular)

Aladdin-90 (+4), 7 screenings (2 IMAX, 2 3D, 2 Regular+Fan Screening)

John Wick-142, 4 screenings (2 IMAX, 2 Regular) Final Week

Dark Phoenix-40 (-1), 6 screenings (1 IMAX, 2 3D, 2 Regular+Fan Screening)

Kind of wish I was seeing more action from John Wick but hopefully that'll come later.

Final count of today, only Thursdays-

Godzilla: KoTM-95 (+6), 8 screenings (3 IMAX, 3 3D, 2 Regular)

Aladdin-92 (+6), 7 screenings (2 IMAX, 2 3D, 2 Regular+Fan Screening)

John Wick-163 (+21), 7 screenings (2 IMAX, 5 regular) Final Week

Dark Phoenix-47 (+7), 6 screenings (1 IMAX, 2 3D, 2 Regular+Fan Screening)

Daaaamn that Wick increase tickets and showings wise is exactly what I want to see. Must be a very good sign for my theater to add preview screenings (They didn't do this for Pikachu for example). Though in general today everything did well, even Aladdin and Phoenix. In total today Godzilla and Aladdin both sold 6 tickets, Dark Phoenix sold 7, and John Wick sold 21 tickets and got three screenings added.

The usual here. 😄

FFH midnight showings-

FFH-58, 3 screenings (1 IMAX, 1 3D, 1 Regular)

Going to give it one more day, if it's quiet like this again I'll wait until it's about a week or two out to count it again.

https://www.boxofficepro.com/social-pulse-spider-man-far-from-home-it-chapter-2-pick-up-buzz-with-new-trailers/

This is a new thing BOP is doing, looking at the top 3 social media services.

As a quick recap, Far From Home and It Chapter 2 are leading, largely due to the new trailers, while John Wick and Aladdin appear on all three platforms. A random fifth movie (Dark Phoenix for Twitter, Child's Play for Facebook, TROS for Instagram). The article also mentions concern over KOTM not popping up yet.

Don't know how effective it will be for tracking, but it seems like a fun series to look at every once in a while.

Social media's tended to be the absolute most misleading thing to use for box office tracking. Honestly confused why BOpro's using it.

Also why use numbers when we can uh **spins wheel, throws dart** worry about KoTM numbers because of social media. Like not to be too irritated, but it is kind of annoying to be doing this for the third time with such hilarious things thrown at it all along the way.

If social media and box office results had any serious correlation, Pika Pika would have made that Pokebillion.

I was thinking of this exactly. I remember a bunch of Pikachu tweets getting like 100k+ likes and RTs only for that to not materialize at all. Or hell remember everyone talking it up because of the Sonic trailer being horrible?

Awesome, I think I'll do the same. Only Thursdays

Orange Park AMC

John Wick - 237, 6 screenings (2 IMAX, 2 Dolby, 2 Regular)

Aladdin - 283, 7 screenings (2 IMAX, 2 Dolby, 1 3D, 2 Regular)

Godzilla KOTM - 86, 7 screenings (2 IMAX, 1 Dolby, 2 3D, 2 Regular)

Dark Phoenix - 42, 7 screenings (1 IMAX, 2 Dolby, 2 3D, 2 Regular)

Aladdin has one of the Dolby screens sold out which seems strange because the other screens and other theater in my area don't have anything near sold out. In fact, I think I'll do the other theater too.

Regency AMC

John Wick - 355, 11 screenings (2 Dolby, 9 Regular)

Aladdin - 151, 8 screenings (2 IMAX, 2 Dolby, 2 3D, 2 Regular)

Godzilla KOTM - 112, 10 screenings (3 IMAX, 2 Dolby, 2 3D, 3 Regular)

Dark Phoenix - 41, 7 screenings (1 IMAX, 2 Dolby, 2 3D, 2 Regular)
