If the night ended now then Thor presales are about 50% higher than IT at my local theater at ~$19,000 (About $3250 of that is the opening night event).  This is going to go up for sure from walkups

Good for Thor - my local, which had already added 1 show today, pretty much canceled 1/2 their 9pm or later lineup and now Thor has SIX 2d shows (funny enough 3d is still not selling, so they left that at 2 showings...)

I tried to get a 5:20 Thor count but Fandago keeps crashing for me

 

My guess looking at this and screen counts and sellouts $12-14m in pre-sales

3D has become the slowest or last to sell for almost all films.

 

Dolby & Imax are usually the first to sell, then regular 2D and some other PLF screens like RPX and then 3D

I don't think there are any non-IMAX 3D showings for... anything really at my local theatre. I think 3D is definitely on its way out

7:00: 101/124

7:15: 8/63 (new showing that replaced The Foreigner)

7:30 3D: 67/78 

8:00 3D: 36/113

8:30: 67/78

8:35 3D: 2/69 (new showing that replaced Suburbicon)

 

This is definitely selling better than It over here even without the two new shows. I'll have more detailed comps later.

IMAX 2D is also becoming more popular here when I could barely find a showing in that format last year.

Most PLFs in Orlando are doing an even 2D/3D split save for Universal's IMAX (fully 2D) and the Altamonte Mall's IMAX (fully 3D but they also have a Dolby cinema)

Yep. All the BR2049 IMAX shows were in 2D here.

Here it is dead for a good 2-3 years now. Some movies still get a 6 PM 3D show but that is it.

it would be good to get final number for comparison purpose :-( Based on RollingThunder report at KJ I would say 110m OW.

Thor 3 has jumped +348 tickets since last night. It should beat Spider-Man: Homecoming's 966 tickets sold, which lands it only behind Wonder Woman (1,270 tickets sold) and IT (1,140 tickets sold).
