WIT needs to make money fast. I believe it's gonna drop as the weekend unfolds and WOM spreads

Not sure about that, kids seem to dig the movie and they could be that movie source of word of mouth.

doubtful. Even the bad reviews say kids will enjoy the hell out of this. It has enough action to keep them happy.

Maybe it will be a Greatest showman scenario. That movie has a 89% audience score on RT.

Altho, i kinda doubt it since this is based on a popular book and if the movie disrespects the book, then it's screwed

Yeah, something like this may happen:

Mar 9: 30M (7.7M weekdays, 37.7M Total)

Mar 16: 15M (3.9M weekdays, 56.6M Total)

Mar 23: 8.5M (2.2M weekdays, 67.3M Total)

Mar 30: 4M (1M weekdays, 72.3M Total)

Apr 6: 2.1M (500k weekdays, 74.9M Total)

Final Total: 78M (2.6x)

If Isle of Dogs is going wide on April 6, a lot of theaters are going to drop it then even if the hold on Easter weekend is solid (which I'm not predicting). It'll be in sub-800 theaters on the 13th anyways

(stays faaaaaar away from AWiT WOM talk)

Gotta say, I'm a little unsure why AWiT's previews start at 7pm given it's family focus. I get the strong nerd/parent nostalgia connection, but I would have thought maybe 6pm would have been a good compromise if Disney didn't want the stigma of a 5pm preview night (if there is actually such a stigma).

Not drawing any conclusions here.  Just think it's odd.

source?

Anecdotal but I have seen critics saying their kids did love the movie a lot (and one of the reason they were hesitant and took their time for doing the review, seeing how well it did work with the target audience)

Do you think it will make less than Tomorrowland? This seems more accessible to kids since it's more colorful

Some critics mentioned that they took their kids to screenings.  Makes sense for Disney to allow a plus one/two to a family film.

Usually for advance screenings you can take a person, but specifically since this is a kids oriented movie disney might of encouraged bringing a kid or a younger sibling/relative with you for the advance screenings. This has happened before.

Disney used inviting people to a premiere + party instead of a industry only screening tactic on this one if I remember correctly.

Yeah, one of our WiT showings is at 9:50 tonight.

Who on earth is going to do that?
