I personally think the measuring stick here should be Ant-Man, with taking into account later legs being chopped off due to Endgame.   Ant-Man did 57/180 (unadj).  Being in that ballpark would be a  pretty good win for Shazam!, I would think.

Then thats still up to debate. Id argue even if Shazam opens to "only" 45M we shoudnt write if off as a failure. The films gets a great response from critics, so why shoundt it get really good legs till the Endgame onslaught?

 

Under 40M is the territory where it gets way more ugly imo.

Beautiful Christmas legs allow for much lower openings. (Oscar nomination and win didn't hurt either)

 

Animated SH movies like Big Hero Six and Lego Batman opened bigger outside of X-mas even if Lego Batman finished lower.

 

Still as a movie geared toward families and kids the legs should be better than usual for a CBM outside of summer/X-Mas and it has a far lower than usual budget than tent pole CBMs

Dumbo’s 7600 on the rolling at 17:00 exists with a context of just 2350 full day yesterday. Today has sold 5250 more than the same hours yesterday, should end up near 10000 for more than a 300% increase from yesterday. Not staggering, but from 35% of HTTYd Tuesday to about 75% Wed.   

 

18:00 reading is ~7900, +300 over same hour yesterday.
