This is (likely) why it will fail at the box-office.

Oh Tele.

Unfortunately that other annoyingly looking movie with an annoying lead will open with 100M OW.

Go post this in the film's thread

Presales:

Baby Driver at about half of Baywatch (weirdly enough, it is equal to another kind of niche fan driven movie "Your Name")

House is better than Chips on Monday of release and equal to NYSM2 the Monday of release

Spider-Man still neck to neck with Wonder Woman (both are literally separated by 5k since the first updates we got from the source)

DM3 doing really well. 300% of Boss Baby, lower than Dory but higher than literally every other comp

So...you're saying Valerian will open to 100M?

10M? Doubt it. 7-8M is where I am right now.

Come to Portugal, tho. NOS is making sure it will be a giant Summer hit here and it faces no competition on the 2nd weekend either.

Your daily reminder that Baby Driver is a good movie and really about 2% annoying at its worst.

Are you saying the lead actor only shows up for 2% of the runtime? Then it might be tolerable.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Go see it.

If I'm lying, not my problem.

Yes, it is. I'm not sure why you keep driving (heh) that point. Maybe someone who's seen it on here can chime in @MrPink @Nova @Jayhawk

I'm going by words from the horse's mouth. Like is it truly eligible for Best Comedy at the Golden Globes or is it like The Martian?

It's more of a comedy than the Martian is.

Despicable Me, Spider-Man, and Apes are pretty much it in terms of heavy hitters for the rest of the summer. Dunkirk and everything else better surprise or else the last 1/4th of summer is gonna really bring the tumbleweeds this year.

Dunkirk will open fine and have tremendous legs, IMO, assuming good reviews. Annabelle is gonna open big. Reviews are very good and it has no competition. Emoji will do solid business. Dark Tower lol.
