WTF. It's one of those type of movies where chances of disappointing are extremely high. Ridley....is such a hit and miss guy. Unless he has a great script, it won't work.

All this schedule cramming is going to affect how many screens Star Wars/Pitch Perfect/Jumanji have at midsize theaters.

So that's 5 wide releases for Christmas weekend now (Jumanji, All the Money..., Downsizing, Pitch Perfect 3, The Greatest Showman), on top of a possible wide expansion or two (The Shape of Water and Darkest Hour, in all likelihood). That's manageable.

Darkest Hour would be wise to go wide on Dec 8. Be the only quality adult drama playing wide until Christmas (except for Murder on Orient Express but that'll be a month old at that point).

They'll probably expand it wider around Christmas so it doesn't get pushed out.

Coco/Darkest Hour/Disaster Artist (pick either one or both of the last ones to share that screen with Coco)

 

Sony can basically kiss goodbye to secondary screens for Jumanji because theaters need the capacity for Star Wars.
