Halfway through the first episode of the new Matt Groening show on Netflix, Disenchantment. It is a tough fucking watch. Humour is more similar to modern Simpsons rather than anything classic. The unfinished and use of temporary stock sound effects is also kinda jarring.

This isn't really the thread for it (which is one reason why I didn't supply the tweet chain), but I would say that there are very few contexts where van Onselen's comment is much better.

 

Not exactly zero, I will admit (mostly focusing on the extreme early days of what he was discussing).  But not very many at all.  Especially on a loosey goosey platform like Twitter.

Well here it is. After trying to manipulate sales data by adding another song (that wasn’t even hers) to her album in the middle of the week, Nicki Minaj comes out with the worst debut of her career, without a number one album, and losing to Queen Cardi by almost 200,000 units

 

 

Also the top 10 albums are all Hip Hop. Impressive for a genre that many thought was a fad that wouldn’t escape the early 90s.

It’s kind of hard to say who is better because Cardi only just started her career. Give it another year or two and then we can decide. That said, Nicki’s verse on Motorsport>>>>>>>Cardi’s verse

Lyrically Nicki wins, this is fact, but she's never made a good album and her singles have been toilet for years. She's a good feature though. Card's album came out and the shit is still good.

Ariana Grande's album is a big big mess. She's got such amazing potential to waste it on lousy productions by Pharell. And yeah, Nicki Minaj is a better rapper than Cardi but I prefer Cardi all in all because she's got the better personality and I prefer most of her music.

Havent heard it yet, but I’ve always felt like this about Ariana. She has a great voice but she wastes it on pop songs that don’t require that kinda energy. She should be trying to take Mariah’s spot but here we are.

Decent for a kakaoke session, which it seems is what she does everytime she goes on national american tv anyway.
