Principle Engineer at any tech company is top tier engineer. He must be paid close to 1m total comp mostly dominated by RSU. That said Oracle itself is old fashioned. If he can move to one of the new AI companies he can make bank(principal engineer at top AI firms get several million total comp).

We need more well rounded people in tech like that, you'd be surprised (or not) how many people in tech's personality is only about the next language or framework.

I don't know what to think about this. I think generative AI sucks but maybe it will just be incorporated in the future... but I don't think anyone has a clear idea now about how that will be.

Seriously though, need someone much more familiar with the strengths of various National Teams to explain to me just how big of an upset this really is.  Preferably in USA sports analogies.

Just watched Fellowship Of The Ring in a packed cinema. Wow, what an experience. Lord of the Rings never fails to move me but being surrounded by 200 people crying at the end was pretty special. Can't imagine what it must have been like to watch these movies for the first time when they came out. Two Towers booked for tomorrow and ROTK booked for Monday :D

Prepare yourself for “I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you!” while Howard Shore’s score swells. The entire audience will be bawling.
