Yeah but I'm almost positive that Raimi intentionally made evil PP a joke whereas Snyder thought the Martha moment was high drama.

And we used to mock marion cotillard death scene in the dark knight rises...

Yeah...

I have predicted the fading of comic book movies for a good decade. Then Dark Knight came. Then Avengers. Then Deadpool. Every time it seems like the comic book movie genre is starting to fade a new game changer comes along to restart the genre. I wonder how JL bombing will affect the next year of CBMs. Black Panther seems fine, and Deadpool 2. Infinity Wars though? Then IW2 in 2019. Unless they fall in line with the fun, vibrant style of Deadpool, Guardians, and Thor 3, I feel like IW will underperform.

Ragnarok just opened at 122M two weeks ago. 4 CB movies have hit over 800-850M this year. JL is flopping because cause it's terrible and BvS damaged the brand. Simple.

I agree but IW is still a lock for 1 billion still.

I don't think comic book films will make Avengers or ultron numbers worldwide anytime soon.

Those days are gone.

The end of the superhero genre can't come soon enough.  Tired of them virtually being the only big blockbusters nowadays.

Take comfort in the fact that the biggest blockbuster in town isn't a superhero franchise. It's Star Wars.

That'd be annoying. I just finished retooling another one of my old gifs. I guess it still works since 100M is still a not-good number.

I'm not sure what the justification is for having Nolan there, but hey-ho.

I mean, do you want 11 Avatar movies per year lmao

no, but I mean the 11 superhero movies all come from different franchises (3 from MCU, 3 from Fox/Marvel, 1 from DC, 1 from Sony, 1 from Sony Animation, 1 from Warner Animation, 1 from Pixar) so it's not really a fair comparison
