I hate to bring politics in here but thinking about it some more Sicario 2 would be by far Donald Trump's favorite movie of the year. Took the complex politics of the first and turned it into "all the browns are coming across the border to kill you, personally!" Unbelievable the same writer did both of them. Also not a very well done movie at all. I hate it more the more I think about it.

Well Sicarios are really political movie so it is more than ok to read/access/talk and critic how politic is handled in them or the political message they can push and read.

They did went eat there cake and the money a little bit with it

Spoiler

The all the bomber except one were from America and didn't cross the mexican bomber anyway, but yeah the beginning is quite strong

I have rewatched the first one the day just after and the contrast, yes police are corrupt but they personalise one.

FK domestic gross could have been better but it’s hard to feel too much emotion when the film is still likely going to make over 1.2 billion. The first JW had a bigger hook and years of pent up nostalgia. And the main thing, it was a self contained story. It didn’t leave any plot points for FK unlike something like TFA which ended with a cliffhanger

The worldwide Top 5 and the Domestic Top 5 are the exact same rn so the tastes seem to be aligned.

Because the US is (still) the #1 market so it greatly influences worldwide numbers. Consider Overseas instead. If you ignore the three Chinese movies in the top 10 (and maybe you shouldn't), you have movies like Ready Player One, Rampage and 50 Shades Freed pretty high.

The top 5 divides aren't incredibly high though with the exception of Incredibles 2 which is still because it hasn't been released in 50% of the worldwide territories yet and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ((which is the main topic point here)), hell one of the two biggest divide is Infinity War with it making more internationally then domestically. Ready Player One's also in the domestic top 10, with 50 Shades Freed and Rampage not too far behind.

This is true. The third film should be in fine shape, barring a truly awful movie that audiences hate. But I'd advise against a film soon afterwards. I think that would go the Transformers 5 route. Best to do what they did after the first trilogy and let it die for a long time before rebooting.

FK is on the low end of medium domestically and WW in my opinion. It would have needed to be below 350 to be really dissapointing, and it won't. WW it would have needed to be below 1.1 or so to be really dissapointing, and it won't. Still, of direct sequels to 1.4B+ grossers (AoU, IW, TLJ, F8, FK) it will probably come in as the lowest. Nobodies heads will roll, nothing is being cancelled, it isn't a bunch below expectations -- it's just that the expectations it is meeting were of having a big drop.

Book Club Multiplier: 4.8647

I Can Only Imagine Multiplier: 4.8775

BC needs $174K to pass ICOI's multiplier. BC grossed $189K on Sunday. A 55% drop on Monday (which would be its largest Monday drop yet) followed by a 30% jump on Tuesday (its smallest Tuesday jump yet apart from the Tuesday after Memorial Day) would be more than enough for BC to pass ICOI's legs. BC needs about $1.84M to hit a 5.000 multiplier; but that seems just out of reach. I think it will finish around a 4.98 although it could continue its surprising run and clear that last hurdle.

With Sam Neil and Laura Dern prob returning on JW3, I don't see how it won't outperform FK. Everybody who was obsessed with JP back in the 90s love these two. Also the movie is doing better than the first in Asia and some south american countries so I expect the numbers to keep increasing over there when JW3 comes out. Most of the people were predicting "Fallen Kingdom" to gross around 1.3B, I don't know how 1.2B can be a bad number.

That's the only way to make it an event again. Goldblum too. Laura's career is hotter than ever and she looks great so she can pull it off but is Sam too old?

We all know it is impossible for a franchise to have a 1,5B WW movie and a 2B WW movie, while having a massive increase with the third film.

Who does that ?

70 seem to work for those long form cameo type, Harrison Ford was around 72 for Awaken, Mirren 70 for Fast and Furious, Redford got over 80 and still appear in marvel movies, Douglas is 73, Suthurland was over 70 for the Hunger Games, Plummer is now 87....

Just need to be realistic, but he is still making multiple movies every year.

As long as the marketing is really REALLY good, I wouldn't have any problem predicting 170/500 for JW3

There's way more potential for the concept of it than either of these last two films, I'll say that. But Trevorrow in complete control again makes me think any real potential will be moot.
