It's silly, but presumably Sony saw only downside in 2022 if Kraven was Russian.  edit: Ignore that. He's apparently Russian but without the accent.

If I were a rival studio, I'd move one of my films to the first weekend of October as it would beat Kraven hands down, perhaps Paramount could make Killers of the Flower Moon a wide release on October 6th rather than two weeks later

It’s likely much cheaper than The Flash though. Which means it won’t make a lot but won’t be a big loss for Sony.

bro kraven was my favourite spider-man villain as a kid and it's gonna be so long until we get to see him fight spider-man in a movie. this film is gonna bench him for at least another decade.
