Well theres the solution to the question if Marvel's fine with Deadpool in PG-13 settings

I get a sense it was one of those "it was a total non-issue but the story drove up clicks on fanboy sites" kinda deal.

Yeah as cool as the Deadpool thing is if they're leveraging Marvel to promote a non-Marvel movie they must not be confident in it's chances at all.

You have a point. I feel like most people aren't even thinking about this movie right now, the first trailer came out towards the end of 2019, and then other trailers came out inbetween then and now, but I just think there's not much interest in this.

As funny and charming Ryan Reynolds can be I don't think he's a huge draw and the concept for this movie doesn't seem as good of a hook as they thought.

This already felt like it was destined to be one of Summer 2020's biggest losers when the marketing began for its pre-COVID release date and it's looking like that prophecy will indeed be fulfilled a year later. Good to see that Reynolds has used the leverage from that Deadpool power into extending the Green Lantern/R.I.P.D. phase of his career into the next decade, I guess.

This is definitely bombing. A theatrical exclusive launch while a new, lethal wave of COVID begins? Sounds like a mess that is being dumped much like New Mutants (ironically that also was an August "release").

Disney probably wishes they made this movie themselves so that they could legally send it to Disney+ Premier Access and at least make some money off of it.

No offense, but there is a lot of silliness in this post.

So, maybe this is the surprise of the year?

Of course we have to wait actual reviews, but great reactions coming out 3 weeks before the release is a good sign.

Sadly it looks like this movie lost the timing, since It's being marketed since 2019
