A Marvels like drop at the box office mixed with critic and audience reception on par with Dark Phoenix.  Anyways, Im seeing the movie after work at 7.  Cinemark - XD only around 20 seats sold at the moment.  Can't be as bad as Megalopolis, right?

Considering I had to endure people claiming that anyone who liked Deadpool 3 was a "Funko critic" I really don't give a flying fuck about whatever RT considers "top critics" to be. What is noteworthy about Joker 2 (at least for now) is:

1) overall critic score is much lower than Joker 1.

2) it's also (and this is the unusual part) not SO low that it's below a lot of "bad but lucrative" movies including Age of Extinction, Batman v Superman, and Pirates 4/5.

3) the actual paying audience seems to REALLY hate this movie. This has been proven on multiple surveys in multiple countries, so this isn't a "Twisters is only popular in US" thing.

4) all this suggests that Joker 2 isn't a "crappy movie the audience will watch anyway" thing. It feels like we're witnessing something exceptionally bad, like if Spielberg had made a sequel where ET gets turned into hamburgers and somehow thought that's what the audience wanted.

Zaslav was still in charge of actually marketing this turkey and trying to make people think it was good even it was originally greenlit by somebody else. Also, before people do the "nobody watches DC stuff anymore" Penguin is actually doing quite well. It's the fact that this particular movie really sucks and word got out in such a big way WB couldn't fool anyone.

And unlike Todd Phillips for Joker 2, Matt Reeves won't coast by on receiving a big paycheck for The Batman Part II.

AT&T before merger was also terrible. They just put billions in debt on the merger. Zaslav is just continuing the glorious legacy of how things are were in AT&T and before that in kevin Tsujihara era. 

 

I think Zaslav at least did ok in putting Gunn in charge. Hopefully Gunn wont screw up this badly though he will start with a handicap considering the cluster**** that DC is in now.

Back when Cats bombed, we has few idiots who said Taylor Swift;s career was over.

Problem here is some people cannot see beyond the world of CBMs and other "Geeky" films.
