Well if you take mp3 player, Compact disk (tape before that), VHS->DVD, there is often a new technology that displaces a previous one, theater lost 90% of their business when Television became mainstream.

Yep this is never gonna happen. Studios will lose massive sums on all blockbusters. Netflix can handle massive losses other ones can't.
