Happy for its run! It would've nearly made the same amount if not slightly higher had it not been for COVID 19. During that time frame, it would've dealt with competition including Mulan and No Time to Die (James Bond film). Those two both had original release dates in the Spring. Tuesday previews amounted to around $815K. The balance yesterday was $1.3M. Industry projections are in the teens for Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard over 5 days with a possible shot at $20M. ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ Seizes $4M In First Day & Previews – Deadline So yeah, not that impressive. I’m actually surprised the weekend sneaks were so high, from what I saw, it was a single showtime each day and mostly not in a prime auditorium. it will get a bit of a boost on Friday when ITH gets kicked out of most of the premium screens. Waiting for 2nd weekend drop, but i think this doesn't have salvation. When I saw it over the weekend in a theater there was a short little video before the movie from LMM, Chu, and one of the producers talking about how hard the past year was and how excited they were to finally reveal the movie (there was also a similar one from Krasinski before A Quiet Place 2 seeing it over opening weekend) and it was kind of painful since you know they likely shot the video under the impression it was going to be shown before packed audiences across the country. And it's a delightful movie too so it's been sad watching it fall from Hero to Zero over the span of just a few days.
