This thing BLEW THE FUCK UP locally.  It sold nearly a 1000 tickets since last night.

 

Only skunk at the party is that Scream comp, but I took that much later in the day, and I also think it over-performed here locally.

 

Let's say 2.9m +/-.3m as a comp.

Not too bad at all for a Quick and Dirty.

 

Did think there wasn't enough juice for 3m so I'm glad I slid off of that at the last moment.  Almost put in 2.8m though, but couldn't quite pull the trigger.  If I did more of these lower earners might have had comps in the bucket to come lower, but as it is, I'll take it as a win for Sacramento's Dark Magic.

M3gan, counted today at 8am EST for today:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 295 (8 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 110 (11 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 53 (6 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 50 (7 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 68 (7 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 191 (8 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 434 (14 showtimes)


Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 1.201.


Up really good 60% since yesterday (and yesterday I counted later than usual. So actually the jump is higher than 60%).
Comps (all counted on Friday for Friday): The Woman King (5.1M true Friday) had 792 sold tickets = 7.8M true Friday for M3gan,

Candyman (7.2M) had 1.064 sold tickets = 8.1M
and Crawl (3.4M) had 571 sold tickets = 7.1M.

So from my few comps close to 8M true Friday for M3gan. And as mentioned it had a really good jump, especially for that level. Still, 30M OW would be tough with that Friday number I guess.
