~16.6M OW for Ticket. Not as bad as it could have been but not as good as I hoped.

Can Black Adam do 19M on Sunday?

Enormous, outstanding number for certified hit Black Adam.. Elite WOM is clearly driving above average IMs all around.. $70m weekend looks likely along with $200m+ domestic gross..

Henry Cavill's Superman vs. The Rock's Black Adam will be an easy $200m+ opener, if not well above..

QFT..

The power of all those $5 off codes (redeemable through today, but can be used for tickets even next week) floating around in 17-35 hands all week...

Quite a good elevation of the Black Adam numbers through the weekend...

Nah the twerk scene was just cringe and just so randomly tucked on.

You can't compare it to the masterclass that was paltrow in that scene and good starlord gem.

Ah there is another one with Tony involving zucchini, can't remember the phrase exactly.

Those scenes were short and didn't overstay their welcome.

She hulk was plagued with love and thunder syndrome at times.

While that ill-advised budget will absolutely hurt Black Adam, it's nice to see it overperform in a big way. Here's my showing right before it began:

Very similar per-screening occupancy to The Batman and Multiverse of Madness for this theater with less screenings than the former but a little more than the former. It'll likely reach between 200K-300K admits for the weekend.

Mate, I can give you the Paltrow scene as it helped establish character all round, but the Jackson Pollock line in what remains ultimately a family/broad product and Drax's "Whore" line about Gamora in GOTG2 are the two most tacky and classless moments in the MCU.

Gunn is great, but the very nature of him and his background means that he is good for at least one moment of legitimately misjudged crassness per product. One might consider it part of the appeal, but it doesn't prevent it from still being the case.

This is somewhat true, in that both had rom-com vibes. But it’s much easier to make that work in what was essentially an episodic sit-com then a full length action feature.

If that tone isn’t for you, thats fine, but also don’t think anyone is suggesting a She-Hulk movie would have that same vibe; among the most well-liked MCU films are Ragnarok and Guardians, where the (sometimes campy) humor is mixed into a more dramatic story overall (which is also what L&T failed to accomplish)

70M is on the table? :ohmygod:

Nah, like $66-$67; Sunday holds are weaker in the fall. Best case would be like $16M+ for $67-$67.5M weekend
