I know I’m going to get shit for this, but eh, LFG.   We are a box office forum. We talk about Avatar excessively because it’s the biggest box office film of all time.  Most of the other places on The Internet TM do not. For the General Audience, this is a sequel to that cool movie from 12 years ago. To Nerd Culture, it’s the sequel to the movie they love to mock and meme. Rogue One was the last time we had this Christmas calendar, and Avatar's Sunday is already on par with RO's Sunday (and maybe above it if walkups surge today). Christmas weekend is about 20% higher than RO here, which is reasonable based on what we know about Avatar's holiday backloading. It should be over 500M by the end of the holidays, and January is empty enough for a large footprint. It probably loses nighttime Dolby shows to Knock at the Cabin on Feb 3 then loses all PLF to Magic Mike and Titanic on Feb 10 with Magic Mike being the one to dethrone it from #1.

 

For the coveted billie, it probably needs to be over 105-110M next weekend and/or have even better legs after the holidays. Jimbo will always bring box office entertainment to us :Venom:
