In the span of a week the RO comp went from a stable +23 to -4 (or more). The way this run took a U turn is pretty crazy.

Jumanji TNL opened almost 2 weeks before Christmas though, so had burnt off a bit of demand by that point. I think movies opening between December 16th - December 22nd would be a good comparison. Otherwise, you can make the point that Frozen's multiplier is 1.88x using the same process! (1.88x by the way would put Avatar 2's domestic gross at the same level as Avatar 1 - $785m)

Problem is, there really isn’t a good comp here: lot of high grossing but fall off quickly titles vs low stating value and good post-holiday legs. Jumanji TNL is one of the few (only?) higher grosseing but still post-holiday leggy options

Well, Jimbo told us to wait until the third weekend to make the final judgment call, and this one looks to be the third biggest one of all time. His 5 film saga is all but a done deal at this point.
