After Phase 1&2 first 8 movies, Iron Man had appeared in 4 movies. Thor in 3. Captain America, Black Widow, Hulk and Hawkeye in 2. 9th movie had Captain America and Black Widow starring. Characters quickly evolved.

Meanwhile, after 8 movies phase 4&5 had just Strange in 2 movies: NWH and MOM. Wanda in a series and a movie... And that's it.

MCU is more complex now. It is not as easy to tie the story to a character.

It's easy; they just need to tell the audience who'll lead the Avengers now that Tony and Steve are gone. And they have to because they have announced Avengers KD and SW.

So pretty typical rise for a Tuesday. About 45%. Uncharted was 50% last year.

Uncharted then dropped 40% on Wed and 20% on Thursday.

Similar percentages for AM:Q would give you a 1.5 Wed and 1.2 Thur.

Assuming that Ant-Man isn't going to drop quite as hard on Wed/Thurs with Uncharted running into the Batman throughout this week last year with its early screenings. Still, this is down like 64% from last week.

That makes sense, though a 58-60% drop for the weekend would not surprise me at all.

Creed III feels like a movie that could overperform, especially if the reviews continue to be really strong.

It actually is - you just need to give some characters a hiatus.

Creed is taking lots of PLF today for early shows. Thinking  Ant 3 wed - 1.25m.

Yeah, the March schedule is going to destroy Ant-Man. There's a much more appealing product pretty much every weekend with the exception of Shazam 2. And all of them will take premium screens away from Ant-Man.

Yeah, this movie is going to die very soon. If this had grossed at this point like 10M less, I would say that 200M was not certain.

It'd take insane amounts of luck for it to reach $200M domestically at this point. It's very much Marvel's very own Batman v Superman. That Phase 5+6 slate will likely see a massive reshuffle, to the point where temporarily shelving those two Avengers movies is a possibility now.
