Father’s Day/Juneteenth Weekend Thread | Flash implodes with 55M, Elemental bombs with 29M, holdovers hold atrociously | Theaters are dead, streaming is dead. Everything is dead really.

Wait a minute, the PostTrak exits are so bad

Early audience PostTrak exits from Comscore/Screen Engine for The Flash shows 4 stars for general audiences and a 60% recommend and 3 1/2 for kids under 12 and 57% recommend. Remember Thursday night due to fans always has better, skewed exits.

Possible B CS incoming?!

Just awful . Can sub 300m happen?

Two mega bombs probably coming our way.

The “Batman’s a fascist” joke at the end is so weird to me. Like I don’t understand what the punchline or the context

it's the same flavour as the "it's called capitalism" line in the indiana jones trailer. idk they must think it plays well with the twitter crowd.

Amazing how many times this has happened with DC movies since 2013, the only franchise to have this many critical and box office meldown inducing failures and keep on keeping on somehow.

I don't care about the Flash one way or another but starting to get really concerned how dire the summer and rest of year looks at box office. Not even sure we are guaranteed a 200m domestic grosser outside Mission Impossible, which isn't quite lighting world on fire in presales. Theater business is still in a very, very precarious position.

im guessing the director is making a joke based on the viral social media posts about how batman should just give out free money instead of "beating up poor, mentally ill people"

It probably has less to do with them trying to appeal to the twitter crowd, than just twitter addicts are the ones writing these

If Flash and Elemental underperform this could be the last weekend with 30M+ grosser since mid February.

With this weekend, we will have 18 consecutive weekends with a 30M+ grosser. A tie with the longest streak until now, that happened in 2016.

If next weekend either The Flash, Elemental or No Hard Feelings gross more than 30M, we will have a record!

I suspect next wknd #1 will be below 20

It’s heavily meta / comic book oriented. Not sure about what I assume is Jamie’s uncle, don’t know much about Jamie’s storyline, but it’s not like it isn’t something that people haven’t inferred about in comics and in real life. I giggled at the joke.

The capitalism line on Indy makes sense tho

And it works as a punchline since a thief was questioning someone else stealing him

The fascist Batman joke is just random and out of place on the trailer (it isn’t a lie tho)

I think the thought process from the writers is more along the lines of “this plays well with me [because I’m part fo the Twitter crowd]”

Looking at last year's Father's Day behaviors, I ran some matrices for Elemental and the Flash with the following scenarios:

The Flash: 2.6 to 3 IM, 7.5%-15% true Friday increase, 10-2.5% Sunday drop

Friday IM 3.8 3.9 4 4.1 4.2 4.3 4.4 4.5 4.6
Worst Holds $22.70m $23.42m $24.15m $24.87m $25.60m $26.32m $27.05m $27.77m $28.50m
Avg. Holds $23.05m $23.79m $24.53m $25.27m $26.00m $26.74m $27.48m $28.22m $28.95m
Avg. Holds $23.41m $24.16m $24.91m $25.66m $26.41m $27.16m $27.91m $28.66m $29.41m
Best Holds $23.76m $24.53m $25.29m $26.05m $26.82m $27.58m $28.34m $29.10m $29.87m

Elemental: 3.8 to 4.6 IM, 7.5%-15% true Friday increase, 15-7.5% Sunday drop

Friday IM 2.6 2.65 2.7 2.75 2.8 2.85 2.9 2.95 3
Worst Holds $57.44m $58.94m $60.43m $61.92m $63.41m $64.90m $66.40m $67.89m $69.38m
Avg. Holds $58.26m $59.78m $61.30m $62.82m $64.33m $65.85m $67.37m $68.89m $70.40m
Avg. Holds $59.08m $60.63m $62.17m $63.71m $65.26m $66.80m $68.34m $69.89m $71.43m
Best Holds $59.90m $61.47m $63.04m $64.61m $66.18m $67.75m $69.32m $70.88m $72.45m

Hold me at gunpoint and I think we get a weekend like this...

1. THE FLASH - $65M

2. SPIDER-VERSE - $30.5M

3. ELEMENTAL - $26M

4. TRANSFORMERS - $24M

5. THE LITTLE MERMAID - $16M

Need to see how Transformers held yesterday, but ATM sticking with about a $24m estimate for the weekend. Wouldn't even rule out it being #3 ahead of Elemental.

Wow at Elementals

So Disney has now ruined:

Pixar

Star Wars

superheroes

its own animated classics

Indiana Jones

Am I missing anything?

Already seen Indie 5 it's better than the 4th IMO. The first 20min were great even though the deaging does look a bit weird. A worthy conclusion to the character.(Han Solo...)

Can I just this timeline is the worst timeline for DC fans? Ever since Marvel vs DC rivalry in 2010s, there isn't much moment for DC fans to celebrate, instead they got all the negativity. The community is so confused, toxic and dejected now, nothing much is moving in their favour outside of some casual hit like Aquaman and Joker.
