Weekend Actuals (Jun 23 - 25) | 19.00M ATSV | 18.44M ELEMENTAL | 15.14M THE FLASH | 15.00M NO HARD FEELINGS

Recommended Posts

Strong hold for Elemental in comparison to the laughable drop The Flash seems headed for this weekend. Very good chance former ends up beating the latter in total at this point.

Asteroid City is overperforming, much needed boost for the specialty market. Had a feeling that seeing all these actors in one movie was always going to be irresistible to a portion of the moviegoing population.

I have seen No Hard Feelings. Someone should have warned me about that scene. I nearly died.

I saw that scene in my pornhub recommendations last week...

It's a different kind of marketing, thats for sure.

Are there even any franchises from the 90s/early 00s that can be brought back other than Scream

Cause what was big: Star Wars Prequels, Raimi Spider-Man, Nolan Batman, Harry Potter (lol).

Brendan Fraser in a Mummy sequel.

Embarassing run for Transformers as well. It died after OW, but at least for like 5 days there was a sense of success with its performance. The Flash can't say the same.

The Little Mermaid not reaching 300M would suck but it seems to be going that way. The Father's day weekend drop was brutal.

Maybe 9.5 asteroid 18.5 elemental

I am guessing 5.6m, 7.3m sat (+30%) and 6.2m sunday (-15%), that would give $19.1m. Sunday drop might be a tad bit higher though.

Kind of funny how between every other movie having mediocre openings and poor drops, this is quietly doing its thing and will likely get to about 4 times its opening despite middling reception almost across the board. Granted there’s no other horror movies on the market, but still a little interesting this is legging out of all things.

Ironically, given conversation in this thread, some of the big movies of that era were … comedies. Along with a lot of one-off action or drama films which would be difficult to sequel and be a big draw, unless they can pull even a little bit of TGM

The correct answer btw is: National Treasure

(Edit: maybe Con Air? I’m ready for the Nic Cage resurgence)

It is a really well done original horror flick. With another studio and a better release date it could have reached a 100M WW total.
