Presales Tracking Information   I guess this is as good of a time as any to share this sheet I've been putting together for the past few weeks.  It's a table of movies from the past few years with relevant pre-sales information (release date, sales date, sales window, previews gross, etc.)  @datpepper and I will try to keep it updated when ticket sales dates are announced for upcoming films to make those easier to find.     There are a few gaps in the sheet where I couldn't f

Insidious: The Red Door counted today for Thursday:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): 86 (4 showtimes)
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 51 (3 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 9 (2 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 3 (4 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 28 (3 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 58 (3 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 238 (3 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 7 theaters: 473.

Up ok 43% since last Friday.
Comps (all films counted on Monday of the release week for Thursday): The Invitation (775k from previews) had 96 sold tickets,
Prey for the Devil (660k) had 115,
Halloween Kills (4.85M) had 591,
Barbarian (850k) had 156,
Smile (2M) had 213,

M3gan (2.75M) 274 sold tickets

and A Quiet Place 2 (4.8M) had 495 sold tickets.
The Conjuring 3 (no Thursday previews) had 641 sold tickets for Friday.
And The Boogeyman (?k) finally (= on Thursday for Thursday) had 173 sold tickets.

Looks almost too good from the comps today (way more than 2M). I guess its sales in the next few days will be a bit smaller and the comps will come down to earth. But really no reason to complain so far.

Joy Ride counted today for Thursday:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): no showtimes so far
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 22 (3 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 2 (3 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): 2 (3 showtimes)
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 6 (3 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 61 (3 showtimes)
LA (AMC Universal): 56 (3 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 6 theaters: 149.

Probably that's a film that will do relatively well at the coasts but has problems in other regions.
Comps (hard to find good comps; all films counted on Monday of the release week for Thursday): House Party had 38 sold tickets in 5 theaters,
Fool's Paradise had 31 in 3 theaters

and Good Boys (2.1M from previews/21.4M OW) had in the same 6 theaters 325 sold tickets.
Easter Sunday (0.5M/5.4M) had on Monday for Friday 108 sold tickets in the same 6 theaters.

Over 5M but under 10M OW is my guess at the moment.

Out of pure curiosity I had a rough look at Sounds of Freedom some minutes ago (now it's too late to count for today) but the presales in the theaters where it gets showtimes are indeed pretty decent.
I will count its presales for tomorrow instead and maybe I can find some comps.

Not really, these kind of releases are almost entirely niche and don't pull in much GA beyond the fans. Different audience obviously, but in terms of presales vs walk-up and multipliers they're on level of the anime releases, if not even more frontloaded

And of course, lots of error reports but finally it worked.
Sounds of Freedom counted today for tomorrow:

NY (AMC Fresh Meadows 7): no showtimes
Miami (AMC Sunset Place 24): 477 (6 showtimes)
Grand Rapids (AMC Grand Rapids 18): 353 (9 showtimes)
Austin (AMC Lakeline 9): no showtimes
Tempe/Phoenix (AMC Centerpoint 11): 72 (4 showtimes)
San Francisco (AMC Metreon 16): 72 (4 showtimes; that's no mistake, the showtimes and presales are indeed the same as in Arizona)
LA (AMC Universal): 88 (3 showtimes)

Total tickets sold in 5 theaters: 1.062.

Comps (I will look for some other comps tomorrow because those two are not really helpful as you can see): Father Stu had on Good Friday for Good Friday 67 sold tickets in 6 theaters

and Christmas with the Chosen had on Friday for Friday (12-3-21) 273 sold tickets, also in 6 theaters.

No idea but probably today and tomorrow will be quite good days for this movie.

If you have/know it, what is the capacity looking like for those Barbie Thursday shows? Will obviously hit a wall at some point, not having the capacity of a stand-alone tentpole of this sales volume, but also seeing the FSS sales look really good, especially this far out
