The Exorcism had, counted today for today, 140 sold tickets (with shows in 7 theaters but error in the AMC in Michigan today so in 6 theaters). Best sales in LA followed by NY.

No comps because the walk-ups will be more important anyway but that's still a nice improvement compared to the only 67 sold tickets which it had yesterday for yesterday.

And indeed some signs of life for Horizon. It had today counted for Friday, June 28, 74 sold tickets with shows in 5 theaters (no shows in the AMCs in NY and Texas). 7 days left.

Very uneven sales: In the AMC in Miami it's still a catastrophe with 0 sold tickets, but e.g. it saw a big improvement in the AMC Metreon in San Francisco (55 sold tickets now, some days ago it were maybe 5).

MaXXXine numbers later today when I have more time but I can already tell you that the numbers were surprisingly nice. (OTOH I wasn't that surprised because I recently watched X - strange but good - and read the comments here...).

0.12x Dune 2 T-0 = $1.17m

0.23x Bad Boys 4 T-0 = $1.31m

0.23x Furiosa T-0 = $1.40m

Comps are all wide release so they might be overshooting a bit. Good final update here though

Haven't seen the preview number anywhere but think it's overindexing against these comps

Horizon MiniTC2 T-7 Days

Previews - 194/13189 (76 showings)

Comps

Furiosa - $1.1M

Civil War - $1.8M

Bikeriders - $2.3M

Pacing very well. All 3 comps doubled in the last 5 days.

what's the baseline "Internal modifier" (IM) range for this sort of film?

Horizon Chapter 1 MTC1

Previews - 2809/102774 34324.43 958 shows

Friday - 3283/156107 39994.11 1416 shows

If this was the only data on the movie, I would have predicted a mega bomb. But this is not a MTC1 movie. So data is irrelevant.

I am also not buying the huge predictions for Twisters. Its presales are not good and not sure the disaster genre is that easy a sell as well. I think 50m Ow is great for it. Plus I am surprised by the legs expected for the movie. Its facing Deadpool in the 2nd weekend and so will collapse hard. Even if it recovers post that overall multi wont be great.

Those summer legs almost always get movies like this to 3 multiplier. Even with at 53-58% drop on 2nd weekend. So if the movie is good something like 50/140 sounds possible. Should do pretty well OS also

I think Twisters does have an advantage leg-wise over MIDR with a lack of PG-13 blockbuster competition. Yeah, a lot of teens will see Deadpool but there are still some who have stricter parents and/or just aren't into profane irreverence.

I’m expecting walk ups to be very strong, old people (this movies demo) tends to buy tickets closer to OD
