It seems you're French, so I can get your bias, but...lolwut? That was atrocious until it got dark and the city lights started making up for it. It lacked any and all energy and enthusiasm for most of it. It was terribly edited with the pre-recorded stuff, and the camerawork seemed to have been handled by 8 year olds. Does France not do live TV events or something? No clue where to place cameras, angles, etc. It was really only the finale that worked.

The bad weather in Paris didn't help the beginning but it did get a lot better once it got dark. 

 

I always find the relay of countries interesting, the USA had 600+ competitors, some countries had 1.

I wonder why the number of Latinos and Hispanic grow compared to previous MCU movies.

I'm not agree ok the weather wasn't good and ok the cameraman should have washed the cameras quite often but i'm not agree at all and yet I was quite pessimistic like a good part of the French. The Finale was incredible for me

They should've started it after sunset, I think. The dull greyness just kinda killed the energy. 

 

Though I did also find it tacky that it seemed like all the delegations were just thrown into random boats the IOC grabbed to rent with no flair or personality decorating them, gave it a real slapdash feel

the finale was great. I had chills when that horse galloped down the river - iconic. Then the balloon torch lighting and Celine’s long awaited moment of triumph, unforgettable. 
 

Agree the whole ceremony was a mixed bag and ludicrously ambitious. It had its moments though.

I can just tell the LA 2028 Opening Ceremony will be 200% better than Paris! Better weather for one.

The ceremony seemed a bit dull to me until it was saved towards the end by the light show at the Eiffel Tower. I agree it got better once the sun was down, because earlier due to the rain it was looking very dull and drab.

 

Also agree with the boat thing, they could have decorated them better. Then again they could have done a better job with lights and stuff along the entire river front. The bridges and the shorefront across large sections were unlit or not decorated. For the city of lights they did a terrible job at decorative lighting.

There were a bunch of kids in my screening just now. Some lady behind us brought her 2 year old and he started crying during the opening credits but she managed to quiet him down after that, thank God. 
 

This movie is gonna do such big numbers this weekend. My theater lobby was PACKED with people after I got out of my screening. I haven’t seen it that busy since Barbie and Top Gun.
