SPECTRE | 11/6/15 | Final Trailer on Page 126! | Twitter reactions coming in, STID 2.0?

You've said yourself you're not a fan and have barely watched any of the movies.  You're making sweeping reductive statements about a series that has lasted over 50 years and spanned about 25 movies.   If you believe that every woman in the Bond films is merely there for sexual pleasure, serve no other narrative to the story and are weak then you're mistaken.

Agreed, the poster in question is just  another Social Justice Warrior looking for an excuse to post their crap.

If "someone who wants their gender to be better represented" = "Social Justice Warrior" then fine, I'm an SJW through and through.

Lol treeroy, if the James Bond franchise ever reaches the level of Michael Bay movies when it comes to sexism and objectifying women(which is a LONG ways away), I'll get concerned.  Seriously, if you're looking to criticize sexism in cinema, start with THAT.  The Bond franchise is hardly sexist, and I'd actually argue that the Daniel Craig movies are a lot less "sexist/silly" than a lot of the Bond movies of the past.

So because something else is worse, I can't criticise this?

Also, not entirely sure I agree that Transformers is worse than Bond (unless you're also referring to other MB movies, which I haven't seen)

I kinda wish we would go back to the less politically correct Sean Connery days, to some extent.  James Bond is not politically correct nor is he chivalrous (except to get what he wants).  He's sort of an anti-hero and I like that.  For example, if he's in the bathtub with a beautiful woman he met the night before and bad guys barge in blazing, he's going to throw her in the path of the bullets and escape.  That's who he is.

I actually think there's an interesting discussion to be had concerning huge franchises that are supposedly sexist (Twilight, 50 shades, Bond in a different way, I guess) and why women flock to them, but it was shut down by the very poster purporting to be against such sexism. Oh well, I tried.

Can't we just enjoy films without all this?.

No. Films (and music, books, games etc) do not exist in a vacuum - they should be subjected to social criticism too.

You didn't show any sign of starting that discussion so don't complain.

This title sounds so awkward to me. Going to see Spectre tonight. Sounds like a paranormal horror subtitle. As in the Woman in Black 2: Spectre or Paranormal Activity: Spectre. The last time a big franchise title sounded this awkward to me was STID, and we know how that turned out at the BO...

But I am glad Spectre is back for the franchise. I also hope I like it more than Skyfall since I really wasn't on the hype train at all for that one. CR all the way.

I'm excited for this. Looks like they are sticking pretty close to the mythos, although I was kind of hoping that we'd see Quantum return as villains. But who knows, maybe they can factor into this as well.

Actually it's confirmed that Mr White, played by Jesper Christensen, who appeared in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace is reprising his role in Spectre. Confirmed by the actor himself. So Quantum are absolutely coming back in Spectre.

I'm happy to have that discussion, if you want. Preferably without the bizarre sexist idiot accusations.

this made my day!   so the continuity will still be present yay!!!

The absense of Felix dampened my spirits geatly.

Good casting except Seydoux who I don't like.

we'll mourn together

QOS is still not in the bottom ten Bond films ever made.

ppl go too overboard with the hate for it

Bond at the U.S. Adjusted according to BOM.

The question is if it will act like Thunderball after Goldfinger or act like You Only Live Twice after Thunderball (really not expecting a halve in admissions even if I do think it will drop).  Was Skyfall the peak due to the convergence of the 50th anniversary, Olympics etc? O/S just keeps on expanding but Skyfall was so big how much more room for growth is there. Add to that the $ is now a lot stronger so exchange rates are less favorable.

Adjusted for Ticket Price Inflation

You really don;t get that you lost all creditbility in this argument when you stated you had only seen on Bond Movie....and that Bond movie was probably the most unprepsentive of all the BOnd films?

You pontificate about things you admit you know nothing about, you are going to get called on it.
